Carol Parnell is an award-winning writer, producer and digital media consultant with more than twenty years’ experience working in the creative content industry. She has a rich skill set that includes project management, program development, communication and strategic planning, management consulting and policy-making. Prior to co-founding ecotype.ca, Carol managed Telefilm Canada's new media fund in the western region for eight years where she led a multidisciplinary team of analysts in the due diligence process and reviewed the business affairs, creative, marketing and distribution strategies of interactive media companies. Carol has served as jury member for the Manitoba Interactive Digital Media Fund, TELUS Innovation Fund, the New Media SLAM and Canadian New Media Awards. She has always been interested in the creative use of technology and currently specializes in developing multi-platform content strategies with game developers, mobile content providers and cross-media companies to hone their business proposals, financing and communication plans. Carol is also National President for the Wired Woman organization where she provides leadership and direction in three key areas: education, mentoring and networking.
